Privacy

Velkomst stores information about the places that use the service, about their guests and about how the dashboard is used. This page explains what we store, why, and who processes it.

Who we are

Velkomst is a booking system for campsites and other places to stay. Privacy questions can be sent to hei@velkomst.no. Velkomst is operated by Godt Vedlikehold AS, org. no. 935 967 112 MVA.

Two roles

For your account as an owner or employee, Velkomst decides why and how the information is used. For guests who book with a place, the place decides why the information is collected, and Velkomst stores and processes it on the place's behalf. Guests should therefore contact the place they booked with first.

What we store

Account: name, e-mail, phone and password (stored encrypted by the login service), or sign-in with Google. Place: name, address, contact details, organisation number for businesses, settings, accommodations, activities and images. Bookings: the guest's name, e-mail, phone, country, arrival time, dates, number of people, message and payment status. Payment: card details are processed by Stripe and are not stored by us; we store a payment reference, amount and status. Chat: messages and attachments you send to us.

Why we use the information

We use it to deliver the service: accounts, bookings, payment and support. Velkomst staff can see and change customer data to help you and keep the service running, and every change they make is logged. We only use statistics about how the dashboard is used if you have said yes. If you register but do not get started, we may send you one e-mail to ask whether you need help.

Statistics and consent

If you accept, we measure which pages and menu items in the dashboard are used most, with PostHog on servers in the EU. We send a user ID, role, place ID, page name and clicks in the menu, not your name or e-mail, and not what you type. PostHog also processes technical data such as IP address and browser. If you say no, everything works as usual and nothing is sent. We count visits to the marketing site and the booking pages without cookies and without storing anything in your browser. We use PostHog (EU) in a mode that only gives us anonymous numbers, such as how many people visited which page. We cannot see who you are, and no consent is needed.

Cookies and browser storage

Necessary: sign-in, language choice and the fact that you answered the consent banner. After consent: PostHog. We do not use advertising tracking.

The marketing site and the demo form

On the marketing site you can read about the product, switch language and fill in a demo form. The form does not send data to a server of ours. You open your own e-mail client to send the request to hei@velkomst.no.

Who processes information for us

Supabase (database, sign-in and storage), Stripe (payment), PostHog (statistics, EU), Google (sign-in, if you choose it) and the Brønnøysund Register Centre (when you look up a business, the search text is sent to the open Norwegian business register). We also use a hosting provider to run the service.

How long we keep it

We keep the information as long as the account is active. Bookings are kept for 24 months after check-out. After that the guest's name, e-mail, phone, message and invoice details are removed automatically, and dates, amounts and country remain as statistics without a name. Receipts and other accounting documents are kept for as long as the accounting rules require. Support chats are deleted after 21 days. When an account is deleted, the place is deleted with its bookings, images and users. We log what our staff change in customer data, and the log may contain e-mail addresses of deleted users.

Your rights

You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction and transfer of your information, and you can object to the processing. You can withdraw your consent to statistics at any time by clearing the browser data for Velkomst, and we will ask you again. You can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).
